Sakao (2020) (Georgian: საკაო) is a hand-painted VR animation with ambisonic sound, capturing a moment from my childhood memories in Racha, a highland area in northwestern Georgia, in the Caucasus - the region where my family originates.
I remember, during our summer visits to my great-grandmother, I would wander through these ancient woodlands, often for hours and hours, from dawn till dusk. This piece recreates those cherished childhood memories.
