siolari: Floating Grasslands (2023-2024) is an immersive VR journey merging the raw beauty of rural, natural landscapes with futuristic Solarpunk aesthetics. Developed in Unreal Engine, the project explores the technical and artistic possibilities of creating lush, dynamic, and interactive environments within a surreal, colossal airborne wind turbines inspired by by the shape and vision of an O'Neill cylinder, a space settlement concept.
The project combines advanced procedural grass systems with a stylized, melancholic yet hopeful vision of the future. Drawing from the folklore of the Caucasus and Eurasian Steppe, it integrates cultural narratives to emphasize the harmony between nature, innovation, and humanity. Also inspired by my fascination with interactive experiences, it envisions grasslands that evolve through player interaction, embodying stories and memories.
Designed as a conceptual exploration rather than a finalized product, Floating Grasslands reimagines the intersection of ecological wisdom and technological progress, offering a peaceful and reflective glimpse into a harmonious, sustainable future.
